I've definitely hit a roadblock with this book. It's not that it's not good. On the contrary, it's brilliant. It's just been so hot, and the book itself is so heavy, that I get tired even thinking about it. Will return soon.

Well, thanks DFW. Now I won't be able to look at a microwave the same way ever again.

I started reading the dreaded Note 304 last night. It was referenced in an earlier endnote, but I decided against reading five pages of small-as-hell text in favor of keeping up with the main text. I'm glad I chose to back and read 304. It's...wow. I am into it.

"The point is it's ritualistic. The bitching and moaning. Even assuming they feel the way they say when they get together, the point is notice we were all sitting there all feeling the same way together." Yes yes yes.

Bonus Note: I've discovered where John Green got his "some infinities are larger than other infinities" that he popularized in The Fault in Our Stars. I knew John was a DFW fan, but it took me by surprise. It was like finding buried treasure.

Finished tonight at page 85. Solid twenty pages, and probably some of the best sections I've read in the book so far. Basically: tennis = life and death. We are both limited and limitless.

I just read five pages of endnotes. I repeat: FIVE PAGES OF ENDNOTES. James Incandenza's filmography. I will never forget doing this. My god.
