[spoilers] i’m going to pretend that that’s not the actual ending because what. the. fuck. loved every second of this book and then it goes and snatches the happy ending away from me. at least we get james but it’s not the same unless the 3 of them make it out. absolutely not. i’m conflicted as i want to give the rest of the book 5 stars but this ending was horrible and twisted.

the tension. relief is such a wonderful feeling. but i’m still scared of what might still happen… or the relief being an illusion. my trust issues with writers are well-earned.

All I have to say is that I’ve been reading non-stop for the past 7.5 hrs, I’ve had to pull myself away because it is already past 6am and I wanted to be productive on my day off hahah. My head has done a full 180 turn since the first few pages. Unless my heart end up getting completely broken into a million pieces w this ending, 5/5 stars all day every day.

Already seeing some expanding inter-character relationships which are very juicy and intriguing. I’m following fs.

It initially felt a bit jarring in writing style but that could easily be down to it being almost 4am for me or having just finished The Familiars with a more laid-back style. There’s a lot of very particular wording. But as I pushed on in the first chapter, the charm of the ambiance and characters already took hold of me and I can feel myself easing into it quickly.
