Bryan Cebulski Good luck!!

Martyn Smith Thanks.. it’s going to be awhile, but I’m committed. Did you enjoy it?

Bryan Cebulski I mostly did! Moreso the first 2/3rds than the last, but you'll learn why. I think I picked a bad translation too though, the Royall Tyler one. From what I've read about the different translations in my opinion it was too dedicated to maintaining the syntax of the Japanese which made it a lot less fun and engaging to read in English.

Bryan Cebulski It's nice that it's episodic! Like it was made to be read over a long period of time.

Martyn Smith Interesting! I see what you mean about episodic, but still continuity with characters present across chapters. Strange to read something so intimate in life details yet so old..
