Theres a lot to say about this book but WHY does the 16 year old girl have to get with the man who's a year younger than her dad??? I get she's mature for her age and it's the apocalypse but thats.....nasty. The author projecting onto a 16 year old??? Again, great book just.....why?

Ok im kinda pissed off now. This man is 57!!! She's like 17 MAX!!!! I don't know what is about black women of a certain generation but why do this?? She's basically got the hots for her dad. I'm mad. I hope this 🥷 dies LMAO. Get him OUT of my sight!!!

Is it unfair to pit two dystopian books against each other? Maybe, but it's hard not to see parallels or differences in interpretation with this book and "I Cheerfully Refuse" by Leif Enger. So far, the latter is more hopeful (still filled with sad potential realities, but not nearly as brutal). Ugh. Why during BHM did I have to read these?😂😒🤦♀️

Lol technically she's a couple weeks/ a month past over 18 when they hook up but it's still gross and unnecessary to me 🤢. It really took me out of the book liiiiike
