19% is as far as I get. My first DNF of the year. It’s disappointing because I’ve heard great things about it but couldn’t force myself to slog through any more of it. I found no emotional connection with (or between) the characters nor do I find smug superiority a solid basis for a “love story.” Life’s too short to waste on a story in which I can’t feel invested.
