Yep still dutifully chipping away at this book. Again it's well written, but reading it just feels like work. I'm not really enjoying it

I love reading, really I do. But despite being extremely well written and full of clever symbolism and philosophy, I confess don't enjoy reading this book. While I do stumble upon a beautifully written passage here and there. Reading this feels like work, at no point have I been hooked and dying to turn the page.

My mom used to tell me about reading Catcher in the Rye, and how it was this powerful life changing book. How it was covertly passed between students at her school because it was a banned book. When I finally read it I was terribly let down by the fact that I couldn't find anything that controversial about it. So far I kind of feel the same way about this book. . .
