are you kidding me?! How is Ella even breathing or standing at this point…I cannot even begin to fathom what she is going through…literally in a matter of 10 pages (for me at least) her entire world has been turned upside down with the most heartbreaking news you could ever receive ☹️.

“Because a very wise woman told me once that you can’t reason with the universe, no matter how sound your logic is. And that we can either breathe through the pain or we can let it shape us.”

“I like you Mr. Beckett. You let my best friend borrow yours.” 😭
“If you leave she’ll be alone…Promise me you won’t leave her alone.”
“Don’t let go, I’d forgotten what this felt like.” “Being hugged?” “Being held together” Never before had a single phrase brought me to my emotional knees - 🥺

I’m a mess and I’m not even halfway through this book yet😭

“She was just down the hall and had no clue that a group of people were sentencing her to hell for a crime she’d never committed.”

wow that is a dagger to the chest, such a weighted line from the book that I honestly can’t help but resonate with how Ella feels right now
