Remember when I said the writing was pretty good in this one? I take it back, it's taken a turn for the worse.

You can't have a character that's like, "Don't push me, I don't want to let the monster out." and then proceed to describe some pretty basic vanilla sex between the characters other than him doing her in a dressing room and tying her hands up. I want to read about some crazy, questionable stuff if you make the characters throw out that warning.

The pacing of this book is sooooo fast. If you like more of a slow burn, this is definitely not for you.

After reading the absolute atrocity that was The Ritual, I decided to try out this book. Already the writing is better overall, but I can already tell what the author's favorite phrase is going to be, and it's people flashing their eyebrows. How does that even work? Raising an eyebrow yes, but flashing it? Interesting choice.
