Interesting turning point in the book.
Kiyoaki was so close to overcoming his formal training and cold convictions.
His rash decisions following his interaction with Satoko, coupled with losing Iinuma and re-acquainting with Honda altered his course and made him snap back into being a cold and pretentious little shit. He is back to suppressing his subconscious, but it feels disingenuous and unsustainable.

Pretty good so far. Interesting reading a love story.
Kiyoaki cracks me up the dude is all over the place lol. Poor Satoko. I’m wondering if there is something that’s lost in translation culturally, because Satoko seems so sweet but then Kiyoaki gets super offended.
Iinuma seems like he can’t be trusted.
Hondas random philosophical insights are interesting to follow along with.
