Szeth’s upbringing and training as a soldier has echoes of Ender’s Game

I’m reading this directly after finishing Onyx Storm and I am struck by how notably better the writing is. The casual interactions between characters and the light, changes of mood in dialogue add something nontrivial to the experience.
