This story has been such an enjoyable read, and now Laura is getting ready for her wedding! It's funny because as a kid, I remember thinking this was so romantic. As an adult, Laura's courtship strikes me as long and very practical, with few sparks. Either way, it's been a fun read and I appreciate the cleanness of the courtship and seeing more of life back then.

I'm making rapid progress and really enjoying this book. It's fascinating to read about Laura's time teaching school and then her being back in town.
