Not enjoying this. The "great frost" is just farcical.
The author says the river Thames was frozen to a depth of 20 fathoms (36m), the maximum depth of the river is 20m in the Thames estuary, in London it is 1.5m.
During the great frost is froze to a depth of 30cm.
