Wow. I can't believe I hadn't guessed it. Widow - it was a surprise?!
(And also, probably for the first time in the book - 2 chapters away from the end - I think I can predict the plot to an extent, and I think these predictions are true.)

Finished the chapter: "In the Sundarbans". It was magical. Not beautiful, but haunting and dreadful. Magical nonetheless.
