I was excited to read this. But dude. He immediately denies any relation bewteen his characters and the "slutty" (his word) sister and then I had to sit through this meandering description of women who are all either whores or mothers. He describes Camus' writing of maman's funeral as "he is trying to construct a fable, not a reportage." My margin notes of that scene say "c'est plus un reportage qu'un roman."
