You NEED to read the Sam POVs the author did as extras. Seeing his POV is just... 🥰🤯 (they're from book 2 and book 4, I think, not this one though)

@Sandy OOH just yesterday I read his POV from the second book!! So good ❤️ I like Jason's voice more, Sam is a much harder character to write I bet, but it was nice to see inside his head for a change *_*

I LOVE SEEING IT!!! helped me with my book 2 issues, too, I hate that one so much dnf'd it. But MAN I love 3, 4, 5!!! And 1!!! These two might be my second fav couple after Will and Taylor.

@Sandy you loving them so much actually gives me so much hope for them xD I very surprisingly for me enjoyed the second book (even though I raged at my e-reader for a bit) but I see exactly why you didn't. I think I stomached it so well because it's single POV and I was kinda mad at Sam and was like "serves you right for being an asshole" xD but I'm so glad they both got their shit (kind of) together ❤️

I think I would have been okay with 2 if JL hadn't made the atypical decision to put That Scene on-page--she didn't even do that in Adrien English, FFS! and also how out of character professionally it seemed for Jason. I just didn't believe he'd be that unprofessional, even hurting as he was. CS was suspicious and clearly part of the case. (plus a needy clingy annoying...ugh nevermind, that's my perception!!!).

Will and Taylor are my favorite heroes of all time from the Dangerous Ground series. That's my #1 for JL.

@Sandy it definitely felt weird because I immediately disliked CS (needy and clingy is RIGHT!) and was hoping nothing would happen between them. Welp :( I def get the dnf, I was so surprised at myself I could continue, probably because it was brief and ended...well, the way it ended.
Which is hysterical because I stopped rrading Adrien after the second book because I looked for spoilers for what occurs with Jack, and the complete revulsion I felt at that chatacter? Hard nope, I didn't even read it but I just think about him and the hate I feel is...quite a lot xD

There is NO crap for Will and Taylor. Will has a super annoying ex stinking up the place, and there's conflict from that due to Circumstances beyond Will's control at one point, and Taylor USED to be a man-ho, but, only bc he didn't think Will would ever give him a chance. It is ONLY THEM from page one of the entire series onward, and I LOVED THAT SO MUCH. 😁

Also, I am so GLAD someone else found CS as unbearable as I did! Blech. Yes on Jake being a total dog. I think I loved Adrien English bc I loved Adrien so much, I just really enjoyed being in his head. His moral code is so appealing to me, I adored him.

And YRS to Adrien! I really loved him as the MC, another reason why I was so mad to not be able to continue, Jack doesn't deserve him T_T

I sent you a DM with a note on Will and Taylor, just so you won't be confused like i was at first! Hope you like them as you get to know them. Um. Taylor is my secret very favorite.

Oh and you are absolutely right, he doesn't deserve Adrien. As I've said on reviews of other books about other undeserving infuriating idiots, Jake's damned lucky love isn't about what we deserve. 😡
