I was sincerely hoping for a book about the hidden history of the early days of the Kentucky bourbon industry and the impact slaves and freed slaves had on its development. What I got instead was a nearly unreadable, self-aggrandizing, ego-centric book about how an unknown entrepreneur stole the Green family history to generate their own shameful economic success.
