Ira! 2 things just came to mind when I saw you were reading this title. I know working in schools and with young people brings gun violence even more to the forefront and makes it extremely personal — as if every life lost shouldn’t be personal to us anyway. Christ have mercy.

1. not sure if you’ve ever seen Rudy Francisco perform his poem “Rifle” — worth checking out

2. One of the Oscar nominated short films featured a beautiful young poet who survived the Stoneman Douglas shooting a few years back. It’s called Death By Numbers. I found it very moving.

Perhaps you’ll find them as powerful as I did.
