After the first 100 pages, you get used to the monologish tone and then the story gets GOOD.

I've gotten used to the rambling tangents and they are starting to fit into the story. Now it's getting tense, like it should be.

Finally able to read without wading through puddles of philosophy. It's becoming more of a story and less of a monologue.

It's like he wrote with a thesaurus. But it's finally picking up now. I wish you could feel the tension he's trying so hard to portray.

The descriptions are still distracting, and the lack of dialogue makes it a difficult read. WAY to much philosophizing.

Koontz's overuse of similes and wordy descriptions are distracting. Though, at times show what a great writer he could be...
