Notes:
(1) The irony of Red Crow grooming Dashiell for leadership mere moments before his own leadership is challenged.
- It's a running theme that people get ahead of themselves only to have the rug pulled out from under them.
(2) Poor Dino, getting friend-zoned is the worst.
- Though, he did sort of deserve it from getting all stalker-y. Boundaries need to be established.

Notes:
(1) I don't quite know what to think of this. This is all about people choosing to go down immoral paths, which ironically leads to moral/heroic outcomes.
- One explanation is everything's pure coincidence since, morally speaking, bad intentions shouldn't be rewarded with good.
- The other explanation is it's all divine intervention: good prevailing in spite of evil.

Notes:
(1) This begins with two one-off stories, each featuring a pathetic lawman.
- Karnow lives a life of lies and kayfabe, complete with a made-up out-of-town girlfriend and big fish war stories. Then he meets the real deal in a US Marshal, which forces him to face reality.
- Nitz lives a life of squalor trying to nail Red Crow but goes postal when his case is shut down.

Notes:
(1) It's interesting to see Jason Latour credited here because it's near the very start of his mainstream career and also probably his first collaboration with Jason Aaron (either this or "Wolverine") which would continue in their shared creator-owned series "Southern Bastards."
- Of course, Latour's career was later cut short when he was MeToo'd out of the industry.
