I was convinced I was almost done with this book but it turns out I'm only 30% - there's action and drama, things are happening, and yet it feels like nothing's happening.
I think it's mainly because we switch from present to past without any sort of tie between the two and without any cliff hanger in either to make you crave returning.
Also, the narrator uses the same voice and accent all the time. It's confusing

I often DNF in situations similar to this. But maybe you’re stronger than me lol If you do hold on and finish it, hopefully things start coming together.

I'll definitely stick it out in the hopes that it does get better
