44 pages in and I'm heavily reminded of why I steer clear of these early 1900's historical novels about racist white people.
Initial thoughts:
-we dont have to include racism in a historical novel when its not relevant to the plot THAT JUST MAKES YOU SEEM RACIST *side eyes the author*
-maybe not have the 13 year old be the person who tells the reader what someone elses child loss is like? Wtf was that
