this book was released before george floyd’s police brutality, but davis listed out names of many children/teens/adults who also suffered the same ending by militarisation of police. so this isn’t a new topic, it’s something that seems to be continuous even after the abolishment of slavery. bewildering

Davis brought up how prisons serve more as warehouses for people who are considered social problems, e.g., the high population of Aboriginals in prisons in Australia (as so not having to deal with immigration!) Crazy stuff.
I never saw prisons as just a way of shifting complicated social problems. I used to think, prisons = bad people only. Now I know it’s not that simple. Cases even like Luigi Mangione.
