A wonderfully sophistiicated memoir of the Age of the Bright Young Things - the 1930’s - when Ms Wells was the infant daughter of a swinging female socialite. The House in France is her step-father’s (the pivotal philosopher A. J. Freddie Ayer’s) and is full of loving and happy memories of them both.
