have no idea wtf they’re talking about at the beginning of act ii scene iii but penelope kinda went off when she said “virginity is rather a state of mind.” reminds me of one of the only aspects of the elizabeth 1998 movie that i liked: the idea that virginity was something elizabeth acquired rather than preserved (i.e. she chose to become a virgin.)
