Junior level is no younger than 13, so no, that doesn't disqualify her. How is the team we are following Junior level?

Dex can't even skate backwards in hockey skates after how many years of playing, and I'm supposed to believe he can learn Pairs and go to Regionals in 2 months all while getting used to a new type of skate? Did he never do the learn to skate program? That's like lesson four!

The stuff dealing with death of a parent is solid, too bad the sports side means I'm having a hard time taking this book seriously. Yes, she is a recreational skater and has to go to Sectionals and Regionals to qualify for National. How she's doing that as a pre-prelimnary skater is a mystery. You test to move up the levels. She must be Juvenile, Intermediate, or Novice to compete. She must also be 13. She's 12.

Fire this coach. She has no control over her students and lets them call all the shots even if it means they could and in this case do get hurt. They did no full stretching or warm-ups before running the program. Of course he dropped her during a pairs lift. That should have been terrifying to read. It wasn't. Now Phoebe's being a brat, but it was her rushing him and the coach doing nothing that led to this.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
How did they make it to Regionals with only single rotation side by side jumps? They aren't even a high enough level to go to Regionals. Do some research!

Given single rotation jumps, they are pre-preliminary level and would not be attending invitationals. You must be Novice or Junior level to qualify for invitationals.

That's not how you do a salchow. To quote my friend and former singles competitor, "If her leg is hitching back in a salchow, then she's dislocated something and needs a medic."

Premise sounds like The Cutting Edge, but siblings. This former competitive skater hopes this book is somewhat more accurate than the movies, but given that he only has 2 months to learn how to skate pairs, I'm lowering my expectations.
