I would personally not classify this book as YA. I am 60 pages in and r@pe has been either insinuated or outright mentioned several times. I am old enough to understand that’s part of the world building and the Scholar slaves vs. Martial empire, but I feel a young teenager would not be mentally mature enough to handle the content in its entirety.
