While at times the language in this book gets a bit lofty- as a dancer this feels like such an important work of writing to have. What a gift it is to read this and to have a peak into Balanchine’s life at work! Grateful to have this beautiful bit of permanence, for an art form that relies on being only a “movement in time and space”.
