it's so cool seeing how part 1 of the book focused on internal dialogue of the two brothers and their mannerisms on the daily

then part 2 there's more dialogue between other characters & u see the perspectives from these characters as well! I love Rooney

HE LOVES HER SO MUCH BUT SHE WONT LET HIM IN THE DOOR OH MY GOD…. SHED RATHER SUFFER

the door metaphor it is every one of her book!!!!!!
also the relationship of Peter & Sylvia make my heart feel so much I cannot imagine being in love yet unable to have the label because she has a chronic illness and doesn’t want him to burden tjag on him

but he wants her!!!!! yet he understands why she doesn’t want to and aghhhhh!!!!!

finished part 1 and I truly am onssesed with the writing and characters

so far… might be topping my favorite rooney book

I am unbelievably in love with this book and I’ve written and annotated so much

two of my favorite things about rooneys writing that is always so consistent:
(1) has such a way with words flowing so seamlessly together whether it’s spiraling thoughts or conversations that are so simple yet so poetic
(2) an open door metaphor forever

finally starting this
