Enjoying this one a lot so far! The author writes with the goal of forging an interdisciplinary (ie encompassing the fields of neuroscience, computer science, genetics, physics, etc) understanding of information theory as it relates to neural networks. The first section spans the history & provenance of various seminal concepts in these fields, with many figures in neuro, statistics, and STEM who laid the groundwork.
