Good chapter on the terminology and key things to note when buying your first home. Had to spend some time re-reading the chapters on redraw facilities and offset accounts. Was a bit confused on the parental guarantee part but the general gist is to try and avoid it if possible to prevent putting unnecessary risk on parents.

The last bit of content on investing and franking credits was a bit dry and dull. Glad we're getting into property and mortgages. Didn't know buyer's advocates and property coaches were a thing. Need to learn more about what a conveyancer actually does. So desperate to finish this book!

Getting quite heavy into discussing long-term investing and shares. I will admit I was not fully paying attention to what I was reading but it was good to be educated on it nonetheless. I appreciated the author taking the time to discuss all the fees charged for managed funds and ETFs.

I've been slow to read this book however this current chapter was interesting, despite being a bit dry. I liked how he used Vanguard's High Growth, Growth and Balanced Index funds as examples to explain the various risks in long-term investing. He explained the differences between active vs passive investing quite well. Sucks that 81.70% of Australian active investment funds underperformed the S&P/ASX 200 though lol.

Loved the chapter on spending plans, especially his bank 1 and bank 2 structure. Took me a moment to realise the acronym GCHC stood for Gifts, Clothes, Holidays, Christmas (lol). Investing Chapter is off to a good start, I like the use of death and autopsy metaphors to explain his early investment failures. Explanations of growth and defensive asset classes. I wish I read more consistently.

Been a while since I read this book. The chapter on wills, power of attorneys and managing estates was a bit dry. Finally up to the chapter about budgeting and spending habits, which is probably what I should be reading more of. Need to regain my reading discipline again I just don't read enough as I should.

Struggling to pay attention I'm really sleepy. Loved the use of the house metaphor to encourage readers to build a strong financial base before chasing after their goals and dreams.

Been a while since I read this book. Nothing overly insightful so far, although its great to read that he mentions that not everyone is cut out for business and that sometimes its better to be a happy employee than to be self-employed and constantly stressing out.
