Oh god, they're only now making it to the Amazon

I can't believe that they would start the book like that. I mean I didn't have high hopes, but god they did not have to do that!?!?! What was the point? Conrad isn't even the main character in this one? What purpose did that serve???
This is already one of the worst books I have ever read and I'm 16 pages in.
