i don't know why, in a world of your own making, you'd deliberately make the main character homophobic and racist. why make a detective use homophobia in official murder investigation interviews to needle the people getting asked questions. and if it turns out that hawthorne himself is gay (calling it now), after all that homophobia he's spewing, i'm fucking quitting this series.
