“Round 1: Meeting the Players” What a genius and refreshing way to tell a story! I was a bit nervous with the narrative style and screen-play formatting, but it’s a perfect mix that allows the reader to experience the stories without excess so they can fill in the rest.

Round 4: Advancing to the Head Table
This section was astonishingly impactful! We finally get to the see the true depths of each character & understand their morals/values. I wanted to slap John every time he appeared & attach him to a pulley to let him hang w/ vultures as his only companions— a truly disgusting creature. The chaotic 1st half & the emotional 2nd was a full choir; comedy & relationships the solos.

Round 3: Understanding the Game
The plot gave the air of a letter regarding the dynamic of balance in friend groups and that people are not two-dimensional but deeply individual and riddled with decisions that have shaped their morals and values ingrained in their deepest beings… yet it read as unfinished with too much anger and cut-off scenes to be emotionally touching or comedic. Overall, my least favorite.

Round 2: Establishing the Rules
This section involved my nearly weeping and then rejoicing for this group of friends every other page. I love the elaborate realism that still allows for the comedy to sweep in yet but completely overwhelm the emotional story.

I found this at a local thrift store “The Lodi House” today and I immediately bought it. Let’s see how this goes!! It’s a screen-play so fingers crossed it’s at least okay.
[Btw this book is MASSIVE!! Like college-paperback-textbook size!! It’s 10” tall by 8” wide & almost 1.5” thick!!]
