Already thoroughly depressing, and have disillusioned me of many unchallenged assumptions I had. Surely those fighting the Nazis dedicated significant energy to stopping the Holocaust and rescuing anyone they could? Tragically, no. Indeed the immigration quotas were more draconian than ever - and ruthlessly enforced. Even the UK enforced similar measures preventing emigration to Palestine.
