"You need not only DHA in your supplement during pregnancy (especially 3rd trimester for brain development) but also EPA!! By only taking DHA, we are not getting the full benefits. Optimal dose of daily supplement: 500-1000mg (containing at least 500mg of DHA & at least 200mg of EPA). Check supplement carefully; avoid mercury!"

"In a study published in 2018, it was reported that women with very low Omega-3 fats were 10x more likely to deliver prematurely. Premature babies are at a higher risk at a range of long term conditions incl. visual impairment, mental delays, autism and learning difficulties. A baby needs DHA for brain development, especially during the 3rd trimester!"

"The best place for an infants brain to develop is in the womb. The longer they remain there, the more opportunity a baby will have to build a healthy brain that can focus, remember, solve problems and learn new skills."

"Choline can help to prevent birth defects in much the same way as foliate. Choline recommended intake during pregnancy: 450mg. You can reach this by eating 1-2 eggs on a daily basis."

"Getting enough foliate in early pregnancy significantly lowers the risk of autism (preferred 800-1000mg). Do not consume more than a 1000mg late in pregnancy as it could possibly compromise brain development. Consume more food that is naturally rich in foliate."
