Regarding the Vicksburg Freedom House: “All summer saw incidents of violent repercussions from both hooded assailants and unmasked ones, including vehicles chasing and circling people, gas bombs, shootings, stoning of children, and numerous assaults. Economic reprisals, unwarranted arrests, and police brutality also came down on those even indirectly involved with the movement.”
