There are vast differences between the right-wing extremism of Rockwell's era & the modern right-wing extremist. Unlike the old right, which appealed to patriotism & love of country, and strove to change America by way of the Constitution, the new right believes the entire political system is a farce…The new right believes the government is Zionist-controlled; they call it the Zionist Occupied Government, or ZOG.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall & the end of the Soviet "evil empire," communism is no longer the focus of the American right. A belief has evolved that the US govt has lost its way. Right-wingers see it as on the verge of bankruptcy & run by leftist New World Order fanatics w/ the help of the ever-present "international Jewish financiers." They see their tax dollars..given away to foreign nations or illegal aliens.

Alan Welch was driving in Houston when the news came over the radio. He pulled the car over to the shoulder & sat in shock. Rockwell had been the finest leader he had ever encountered. He had led by example, he had been fair, just, honorable, courageous, & incredibly intelligent. He had never talked down to people; he had made them feel like they were worth something. The incident left him devastated & very depressed

Rockwell appeared at Oregon State University for back-to-back speeches in the 800-seat auditorium. "My mission is to put the searchlight on the termites and expose their undermining technique...I'm determined to tell what is in my heart, in spite of terrorism, yellow armbands, and Stars of David. It is important to expose the truth," he said.

Rockwell went to speak @ WSU..[he stepped] to the podium b4 1k students: "I want to talk about Jews."

He offered $1K to anyone who could disprove his "unimpeachable" facts that Russian rev had been orchest'd by Jews; that rich Jews financed Trotsky; that as head of the Red Army he killed 20 mill Xtians: "Communism is a Jew op..In this country you can't criticize Jews. If you do you will be called a fascist, a bigot"

In Rockwell's camper a reporter asked, "Do you believe all of this you
preach?" Astonished by the man's query, Rockwell took his corncob pipe from his mouth and explained very slowly, in low voice, "This has cost me the most beautiful wife in the world. Seven kids. All my relatives. I was a commander in the Navy and a half-year away from a pension. Certainly, I believe all of this."

Rockwell's invite to speak at Western Maryland College on
November 28 came under extreme criticism from the Jewish War
Veterans. Group head Norman Kolodner, stated, "We believe in freedom of speech but do not think that people should be given an opportunity to try & warp the minds of our collegiate youth." Kolodner suggested the college show a film of US soldiers fighting Nazis in WWII & liberating Nazi prison camps.

In California, the Western Division staged pickets of the NAACP national convention on 7/5/66, when 4 Nazis in uniform circled the
Statler-Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles with placards denouncing the Jewish leadership of the NAACP. The Nazis carried placards reading:

In mid-1966, the ANP launched a quarterly journal called Nat Soc World. Like other party lit, NSW was designed to win hearts & minds of readers, but the focus this time was scholarly, intellectual types. NSW was the brainchild of William Pierce, a 32-y/o physics prof from Oregon who had recently moved east. Pierce had wanted to produce a journal of ideas but lacked equipment. He handled editorial duties & content.
