The book cover is quite misleading: this was NOT written by Spike Lee. Instead, it was written by Kaleem Aftab after interviewing Lee. Still, Aftab is an engaging storyteller, even when he nevertheless has to accommodate the enormous ego of his subject.

Notice also that it contains spoilers for every Spike Lee film from the period covered by the book.

Not an actual autobiography, but an "as told to" hagiography. Entertaining enough and full of interesting anecdotes and insights into the mana nd his times.
