Jesus is well-differentiated

I admire the attempt to apply the principles in this book to the stories of the patriarchs but WOW what a stretch!

Forgiveness and family systems theory.

Comparing Bowen’s emotional differentiation to Willard’s spiritual formation. I’m not sure that either Bowen or Willard would agree with the synthesis that Creech draws out, but it’s spurring me on to think.

Emotional differentiation in pastoral care.

Emotional maturity and preaching. Focusing on the strengths and not getting too caught up on phrases like “the community creates the Bible”

Doesn’t use the language of sin in places where I would, but thoughtful in how churches can be emotionally mature places in an extremely immature world.

Really thinking about how to become a well-differentiated, less anxious pastor.

Emotional differentiation. I’m not quite sure yet what it is or how to grow in it, but it sure seems important.
