I have learned reading this book how intelligent the president was as he even predicted his own death. Also I'm realising that many of the presidents advisors didn't follow his wishes as lincoln didn't want revenge but they do

currently in the book i am realizing that the fall f the confederacy was due t poor planning by the confederate army and i am realising that lincoln doesnt want death but just wants peace as he doesnt kill his enemies
