I wonder by which inspiration came 'Morella' to be, so particularly different (in its way) from all other stories around spouses Poe wrote.
The problem in this reading cruise I took is after some stories they all start to appeal the same. E.g. "Thou art the man" after Murders in Rue Morgue, The Purloined Letter, and The Cask of Amontillado.

I've just finished "A descent into the Maelstrom" and it astonished me how much Poe writes about hope, and how for the first time hope is what guarantees a kind of happy ending (so hard to find in Poe's writings).
Absolutely loved it and by far one of my top 5 tales of him.
