Having read a number of books set during WWII and the Jewish experience, this book is lacking. The young Jewish woman Sadie, although aged 19 is written as much younger in her reaction to her family's plight. The parallel storyline of Ella and her romantic interest is predictable. I'm not sure I will continue reading this book.
