I really want to like this book but I’m finding it a slog unfortunately! I mean, how many times can MC1 be shocked by MC2’s magic power just like she was the first time she witnessed it? How many times can she wonder whether MC2 is trustworthy? In a book with a literal mountain in it you’d think the story would be building towards a peak, but alas. Might not finish this one.
