Extremely powerful work of fiction. This book put into perspective the events in Syria & their impact on the everyday Syrian citizen. At times, it was extremely hard to get through knowing that, while a work of fiction, it is a reality many endured. If more people understood the horrors that so many had to witness for so long, I believe there would be a whole lot of more empathy for those who were able to leave.
