Also, there's no "Flamingo Key" there. No barrier island that I know of either. I'm gonna have to think, offhand, I can't think of a town on the Gulf Coast that fits this description -- not one with a population of 12,000.

Does anyone know what gives here? Flamingo has never had a population anywhere near 12,000 (maybe 200 in it's peak). Is MacD just using the name for a fictional town? Odd he'd use the name of a real town -- and he knew Florida well. He also described it as being on the west coast, which isn't exactly right. Some of you JDM fans must know something about this.
