This is some of the most fun I've ever had reading nonfiction! Caresse is witty and straightforward and even a detail-oriented reader like me doesn't mind her fudging some dates and places. It's great to see her unbridled wit and honesty come through as she recalls her life among some of the most self-important and legitimately important characters of the early 20th century.
