I enjoyed reading about how Dick used his AI skills to capture his dad's killer, I was clueless, w/out having to compromise his ethical programming not to harm humans. Maybe the ending seemed a bit far-fetched w/ how it all went down, but it was entertaining, and for most, it ended happily.

Dick is finding out a lot about murder/motives. 1. Russians offered 1 billion $ for Dick. 2. Dick's Dad would not share D's technology w/ colleague who wanted a joint AI venture. 3. Suspect Vickers' fiancée told Dick that Vickers has just proposed to her /would not hurt people. She knows Vickers is innocent! Dick feels that studying humans is confusing b/c they send too many mixed signals=hard to figure out.

Dick again shows his intelligence: Someone killed Dick's creator/father and probably was also going to harm Dick. Police focus on a fellow officer/ family friend who quotes Shakespeare perfectly. In this man's suicide note, he quoted Hamlet's soliloquy incorrectly, something Dick knew that he would never do. Dick is suspicious about the note and considers it to be a fake. Clever!

I am liking this book ! People can't accept Dick, the AI computer, as a person and he can't understand their hatred of him, esp. when humans do such terrible things to each other , and he is programmed to be non-threatening. Funny episode w/ Dick match-making his sister Jane w/ Detective Burroughs b/c Burroughs carries a gun and this makes Dick feel safer b/c of the threats against him/Jane.
