The Vegetarian feels less like a story and more like a slow, inevitable descent. The further I go, the more unsettling it becomes.
Not just because of Yeong-hye’s transformation, but because of how the people around her react to it. There’s an eerie detachment in the writing that makes everything feel both dreamlike and painfully real.
