I feel that Hooks consistently reiterates “male violence”, “sexual impulse” and “dominating masculinity” only to enforce feminist theories on patriarchal flaws and offer little more than a concluding sentence on the way men can love/be loved/ and be united with women equally. There is not any substance to these arguments other that repeated woe and a patronising final statement.

Not sure how to feel about this book.
Hooks has some valued points, her own experiences testify to the motives behind her opinions but I feel that most of her points refer to what “most men think” and lacks a strong research based argument.
