Chapter 9 in this is the densest, most sprawling, and most inscrutable passage of backstory I have ever read. I had to find a reader's guide online and four months of on-off again reading to read all SIXTY (60) PAGES of backstory full of erroneous detail after detail. Why most postmodern literature be like this?
